RNLI Whitby

By the RNLI Station at Whitby

is a quayside, which is home to lobster pots waiting to go back out to sea.

On the quayside Turnstones fly in and search for their food.

Turnstone (Arenaria interpres)

There’s none there! Herring Gulls however hoover up any loose food they can seize.

Herring Gull (Larus argentatus)

Gulls look forever hungry, and the glint in their eyes has an air of the Jurassic.
