Also a fine layer of moss, which contrasts well in colour to the purple with deep green.

This is wonderful to touch; so soft.

The heather stretches over the moor.

In the distance lies the green valley of Sleddale.

A mixture of green, yellow & purple paints the landscape.

Nestling in the heather are butterflies.

In the woodland track that leads back to Cafe Twitch, the signpost for the Cleveland Way also points past some bees, who are busy feeding from the thistles.
