Night time Nightjars.

The annual return of Nightjars to Guisborough Woods is always an experience with the birds appearing out of the encroaching nightfall.

They appear on the wing suddenly, with powerful wing beats, but move surprisingly slowly as they hunt for insects.

Their churring calls echo over the empty Moors.
