Sea and sunshine

To Sandsend on a cool but sunny day. The beach looks magnificent.


As do the cliffs of Sandsend Ness, which jut out into the North Sea..


The retreating tide cuts its pattern through the sand.


and even leaves a trace of coal sand.


The stones on the beach are covered in seaweed; the contrast between the blue of the water, green of the rocks and the shades in the sand beckons the impressionist painter within.
