The annual return of Nightjars to Guisborough Woods gives a great experience with more birds heard and seen than ever.


The outline of this Nightjar rises and falls against the light above the gathering dark.


Note how often it glides during its flight. The overall appearance of Nightjars in flight is very hawk like.

Walking back the sound of a Tawny Owl calling, with a Curlew giving a response echoes throught the woods.
