Avocet attack

The saline lagoon that marks the entrance to Greatham Creek is home to Avocets this time of year. They are beginning to build their nests on the man-made island in the middle of the lagoon.

The waters however are frequented by other birds. In this moment, we can see a Canada Goose test the right of weight; the biggest bird dominates, as it tries to explore the island.

The Avocets retreat before this advance, rising into the air, taunting as they go.

The Canadian goose advances remorslessly.

but having prooved its point of conquest, it retreats back to the saline lake, with Avocets in chase.
