May’s Full Moon,

Despite being midnight, the moon is low on the horizon. It always is in the summer months (the opposite to how the sun appears with the seasons). There’s also an extra effect going on; we are approaching a minor lunar standstill in July 2015. The moon’s arc at night follows an 18.6 year cycle
