Hanami at Highcliff Nab

The start of summer, and the cricket season.

Later in the afternoon, a trip to Commondale.

In the midst of the wilderness, a reminder of two fallen soldiers, lost in the Great War.

The moor is alive with Meadow Pipits.

Meadow pipit (Anthus pratensis)

and with Red Grouse.

Red Grouse (Lagopus lagopus)

Coming down off the Moor into the woods reveals rabbits.

European Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus)

And streaking across the grass, a Swallow, which I first saw this year on 19th April.

Swallow (Hirundo rustica)
