From QE1 to QE2

Not Quantitative Easing; it’s the 450th anniversary for Prior Pursglove College, which spans the reigns of Monarchs from Queen Elizabeth I to Queen Elizabeth II.

In the ruins of  Guisborough Priory

a falconry display holds court and I see a Peregrine Falcon at close range.

Peregrine (Falco peregrinus)

The bird always scans the horizon, watching and waiting. I don’t stay to see him fly, but instead go deep into the North York Moors. There the hills are covered in wild flowers.

Despite it being a dry spring, it looks very verdant.

Bluebells carpet the floor of the woods.

and in another part of the woods is Wild Garlic.
