Friends, old and new

It’s spring, and we welcome back perennial old friends.  These are the early flowers of the year , both Daffodils (Narcissus pseudonarcissus)

and Snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis).

Now to some new friends.  In the garden at Cafe Twitch, we welcome Mr & Mrs Pheasant who made separate visits.  First Mr Pheasant, a Bourbon Duke amongst British Birds.

His iridescent head shows a multitude of colours and his tail, well that’s another tale indeed.

Then Mrs Pheasant, all camouflage.

Meanwhile at Lake Wilton, all is change.  The geese and cormorants have gone to summer quarters, even mostly the Mallards.  All that visits now are new ducks; Pochards and Tufted Ducks.
