Friends & Fleeting Visitors

There’s a change in the air. We haven’t had a scorching heat this summer, and the seeds are appearing on the bushes (more on this later in another post). Meanwhile, although the seeds I provide at Cafe Twitch continue to disappear, the owner hasn’t recently caught sight of a bird feeding. But the livebait still seems a hit with the House Sparrows.

House Sparrows (Passer domesticus) galore!

In the distance, a Collared Dove family begins to gather to roost for the night.

Finally to end today’s twitching action, a fleeting visitor that appeared out of the blue yonder, then sailed off again, doubtless in search of a free lunch. Too late, the House Sparrows had them all, but there will be more tomorrow.
